This presentation introduces Communication Diagnostics, a preliminary methodological framework designed to analyze how complex knowledge is communicated in research and educational contexts. Drawing on applied linguistics, discourse studies, and academic communication, the framework examines clarity, argumentation, audience awareness, and rhetorical effectiveness in research texts. Using examples from STEM doctoral writing, the study illustrates how Communication Diagnostics can connect linguistic theory with practical interventions that support language learning, knowledge transfer, and researcher development. The framework offers a systematic approach for identifying communication challenges and enhancing the accessibility and impact of specialized knowledge across academic communities.
